On August 10, the editor learned from the “Ninth Five-Year Plan” scientific and technological work summary meeting of the machinery industry that during the Ninth Five-Year Plan period, a large number of scientific and technological achievements in the machinery industry were commended by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the State Planning Commission, and the State Economic and Trade Commission.

The "National Key Scientific and Technological Achievements Award for the Ninth Five-Year Plan" was awarded by the Shenyang Blower Factory for the development of three large-scale ethylene cracked gas compressors and propylene compressors. The “September 5th” national key scientific and technological breakthroughs for outstanding scientific and technological achievement awards were: 16 research and development projects of the FAW Jetta Car Stamping Continuous Automation System completed by the Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The "Sixth Five-Year Plan" National Award for Outstanding Scientific and Technological Achievements in the Development of Major Technical Equipment and Localization Projects was awarded by: Harbin Institute of Electrical Engineering and Dongfang Electric Machinery Co., Ltd. mainly completed the design and analysis of large hydro turbines and the development of computer software. With the strong support of the country, the machinery industry has included 11 national key scientific and technological research projects, 3 high-tech industrialization projects, 5 major national technical equipment development and localization projects, and 4 national key technological innovation projects. There are thousands of state-level new product planning projects, and a total of 2 billion yuan has been invested in scientific research, including a national science and technology grant of 500 million yuan. During the "Ninth Five-Year Plan" period, the machinery industry received more than 150 national patents. A large number of scientific and technological achievements were applied and rewarded, among which were 2 first prizes for national science and technology progress, 29 second prizes, 41 third prizes, 4 national science and technology invention awards, and 1 natural science award.
