In the milling state, there is also a rotary axis C axis, which can achieve three-coordinate linkage with the X and Z axis.

Principle: The polar coordinate interpolation command is used for the face milling of the workpiece. The coordinate system is composed of the X axis (tool motion) and the C axis (chuck rotation). The coordinate plane is on the right end face of the workpiece. Among them, the X axis is called the first axis, and the rotation axis (C axis) is called the second axis or the imaginary axis.

When programming, in order to facilitate programming, the polar coordinate system is converted into a Cartesian coordinate system, that is, the unit of the virtual axis is not used, but is the same as the linear axis. When programming, the outer surface of the cylinder is unfolded so that programming is performed on a plane with the Z-axis in millimeters and the C-axis in degrees. Cylindrical interpolation commands make it possible to mill on the side of the cylinder, especially when machining eccentric grooves.

The format of the polar coordinate interpolation instruction: GlZl (into the polar coordinate interpolation mode), Gl3l (exit polar coordinate interpolation mode), GlZl and Gl3l are placed in a separate block. The procedure for face milling is completed between the two blocks.
