Uniform distribution of bubbles in the flotation cell
The uniformity of the bubble distribution affects the volume of the flotation machine's tank, and thus directly affects the effective utilization factor of the flotation machine and the working efficiency of the flotation machine.
The bubble is not evenly distributed throughout the slurry in the flotation cell, but in the part of the slurry where the bubble exists, the ore collides and the bubble have the opportunity to collide and adhere, so the volume of the groove where the bubble exists is It is called the inflation volume.
The volume of the tank with only the pulp and no bubbles exists, because it cannot directly collide, contact and adhere to the ore particles, it becomes a useless space. Obviously, the more such useless space, the lower the effective utilization coefficient of the tank volume, and the smaller the production capacity calculated according to the unit tank volume.
The effective utilization factor of the flotation machine tank volume can be defined as follows:
Effective volume utilization factor of the tank volume = inflation volume / total volume of the tank
The relationship between the production capacity of the flotation machine and the effective utilization factor of the tank volume is shown in Table 9-4.
It can be seen from Table 9.4 that the three kinds of flotations that are compared have the same production capacity calculated according to the unit charge volume; while the production capacity calculated according to the total volume of the unit tank has a large difference and the effective utilization factor of the volume. The larger the volumetric effective utilization coefficient calculated by the total volume of the unit tank, the greater the production capacity of the flotation machine.
(1) The structure of the flotation machine. Tests have shown that the uneven distribution of bubbles in the slurry often varies greatly depending on the structure of the flotation machine. Even in the same flotation machine, the volume concentration of bubbles in the slurry differs greatly at different points on different sections of the tank.
(2) Stirring strength. For mechanically agitated and aerated agitated flotation machines, as the mechanical agitation strength increases, the uniformity and dispersion of the bubbles in the slurry can be significantly improved.
(3) Concentration of pulp. The test shows that the mechanical agitation flotation machine has the best dispersion and distribution uniformity of the bubble when the concentration of the slurry is in the range of 20%-35%, and the flotation efficiency is the highest. Therefore, in most cases, flotation is often carried out within this concentration range.
