Acid granulation heap leaching begins with the development of an acid-resistant and inexpensive binder. Such adhesives have been explored abroad. The former is expensive, the latter two are used in large quantities, and the process conditions are harsh, so no industrial application has been reported so far.

In the nuclear industry, six Jianlong, Peng Xianzuo and so on have done a lot of exploration in recent years, looking for a domestic natural organic raw material as a binder, the adhesive is not toxic, can withstand 10% sulfuric acid solution, and is cheap and easy to obtain. An acid granulation heap leaching test was conducted on a argillaceous uranium mine in Yunnan using this binder. The ore's ore is composed of clay , quartz sand and boulders. The uranium content in the boulders is extremely low, and uranium is mainly found in clay and quartz sand. It is difficult to infiltrate into the ore layer by leaching with percolation. A research unit has been tested by stirring and leaching, and the leaching is very good. However, due to the high clay content, although the uranium in the tailings slurry still fails to meet the discharge standard after seven-stage washing, the acid granulation heap leaching, indoor small test and The 130t expansion test on the site has achieved good results. The original ore grade is 0.105%, the leaching is 9d, the slag grade is 0.01%, and the leaching rate is 90%.

Li Shangyuan and Zeng Yijun conducted indoor laboratory tests on the off-balanced oxidized ore of Jinchuan Nickel Mine and the copper and cobalt tail slag samples re-selected in Zaire, and selected a natural inorganic compound as an acid granulation heap leaching binder. The compound is non-toxic and tasteless, and is inexpensive and readily available. Zeng Yijun and Li Jianhua used this kind of binder to carry out acid granulation heap leaching on a sandstone copper mine in Hengyang, and achieved good results. The column leaching results for these tests are listed in the table below.
