On May 20th, a 500,000 t/y heavy oil catalytic cracking unit designed by PetroChina Huadong Design Branch and supported by PetroChina Guangxi Tiandong Petrochemical Co., Ltd. produced qualified products and achieved a successful start. On the eve of construction, technicians performed a two-fluidization test in a catalytic cracking unit. The amount of catalyst was 93 tons. After 48 hours in the fluidization test, the catalyst loss was only 3 tons, showing good performance. PetroChina assisted Guangxi Tiandong Petrochemical Refinery Project to include three production facilities: 50-thousand-ton/year catalytic cracker, 80,000-ton/year gas fractionation unit, and 30,000-ton/year polypropylene plant, with a total investment of approximately 450 million yuan yuan.
