On May 8, the catalytic dry gas purification technology research project jointly undertaken by the Research Institute of Nanhua Group and Zhenhai Refinery Branch of Sinopec Corp. passed the technical appraisal hosted by the Science and Technology Development Department of Sinopec. At present, this technology has directly created a production value of 150 million yuan for Zhenhai Refining and Chemicals.

The technology has the characteristics of no corrosion to the equipment and no pollution during the use process, and provides technical support for the integrated use of resources by the refining and chemical integration enterprises and the reduction of ethylene production costs. The project is aimed at the deep decarbonization requirement of 160,000 tons/year of catalytic desulfurization dry gas in Zhenhai Refinery, and has developed special absorbents and processes to increase the absorption and desorption rates of solvents, reduce the regeneration consumption, and simplify the process flow.
