In the grinding process, how to make the coolant enter the interface between the grinding wheel and the workpiece; the grinding wheel is kept clean without clogging of surface pores with waste debris, etc. This has been a problem that has not been solved. Due to the airflow generated when the grinding wheel rotates at a high speed, the flow of cooling liquid into the working interface is hindered, and dressing of the grinding wheel does not effectively clean the surface of the grinding wheel, and the machining efficiency and the wear of the grinding wheel are reduced. For this purpose, we have developed a cooling fluid guiding device. Its working principle is to use the liquid flow to clean the surface of the grinding wheel and let the coolant enter the pores of the grinding wheel so that the grinding area maintains the cooling liquid. As shown in the figure, the device is composed of a plurality of baffles installed in front of the workpiece, and the top cover has a range of about 60° to 70° (relative to the outer arc of the grinding wheel). The end of the deflector baffle should maintain a clearance of 0.64 to 1.27 mm from the top and sides of the wheel. Coolant enters the chamber (chamber) continuously from the top of the baffle, allowing the deflector to continuously supply coolant to the wheel. The rotating grinding wheel projects the coolant in a tangential direction onto the deflector baffle. The rotation direction of the baffle wheel reflects the centrifugally ejected coolant to the surface of the grinding wheel at a faster speed, and flushes away the debris that blocked the grinding wheel. Into the grinding wheel, the coolant enters the interface between the workpiece and the grinding wheel. The manufacturing requirements of the coolant deflector are precise and must be formulated according to the width and shape of the grinding wheel used. The device shall be equipped with an automatic adjustment mechanism so that it can move downwards as the diameter of the grinding wheel decreases, until the diameter of the grinding wheel is reduced to 20% to 25% of the original grinding wheel.
Because the deflector flushes out fine foreign material that may clog the surface of the grinding wheel, the grinder must be equipped with a good coolant filtration system to keep the coolant clean. The coolant used may be an aqueous solution or a synthetic lubricant. A commonly used coolant pump with a pressure of 2.1 MPa is sufficient to drive the coolant into the deflector. The air deflector adjustment device that controls the linkage with the grinding wheel auto-repair cycle requires compressed air of 6.2 to 7 MPa. >
The actual cooling effect of this type of flow deflector is much higher than that of ordinary flow deflectors and high pressure cooling pumps, and the attached table is the result of comparing the old and new devices according to the G value.
The surface quality of the workpiece after using the coolant diversion device is significantly improved. Workpiece dimensional errors, burns, ripples, and cracks are significantly reduced, and the coolant temperature rise is small.
