· Mitsubishi tire performance data is suspected of fraud

Recently, due to suspected fraud in the fuel efficiency test, Japan's Mitsubishi Motors has been caught in a scandal.
Mitsubishi Motors explained that the company's employees were suspected of cheating on tire load values or tire rolling resistance during the test, thereby beautifying the fuel mileage of the car and causing errors in fuel consumption data and actual data.
According to reports, if a car that violates regulations is subject to formal testing, it is expected that fuel consumption will increase by about 5% to 10% from the current level.
It is understood that tire rolling resistance is one of the most important factors affecting vehicle fuel efficiency. Currently, most car companies use low-roller tires to reduce fuel consumption.
The tire load value indicates the load carrying capacity of the tire. If the load is overloaded for a long time, the life of the tire will be shortened, and in extreme cases there is a risk of puncture.
According to Mitsubishi Motors, this data problem was first discovered by Nissan. Nissan’s data in self-tests differed from the data provided by Mitsubishi Motors. After that, it raised the issue with Mitsubishi Motors and asked for an investigation.
At present, Mitsubishi Motors is discussing the issue of compensation with Nissan.
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation President Aikawa Tetsuo said that the affected models will be discontinued and discontinued, and all buyers will be notified of data fraud. The company will also conduct an investigation to confirm whether the cars sold overseas are also affected.
Japan’s Ministry of International Affairs has settled in Mitsubishi Motors for investigation and asked other car companies to submit relevant reports.
