According to Vietnam Economic Times’ website on May 18, India’s rubber will not increase significantly in the next 4-5 years, and Vietnam’s position as the fourth largest rubber producer in the world will be replaced by Vietnam.
According to reports, Vietnam's rubber planting area increased by 377,700 hectares in 2003-2010, while India's only increased by 230,200 hectares. In 2006, Vietnam’s rubber production was 555,000 tons, in 2008 it was 666,000 tons, and in 2010 it increased to 75.5 million tons. At the same time, in 2006 India's rubber production was 853,000 tons, in 2008 it was 881,000 tons, and it fell to 851,000 tons in 2010, and Indian rubber will not increase significantly in the next 4-5 years.
At present, Vietnam ranks fifth in rubber production in the world, but the Indian Rubber Association believes that Vietnam will soon surpass India to become the fourth largest rubber producer in the world.
