In recent years, Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park has actively introduced advanced chemical manufacturing projects while accelerating the construction of innovation platforms, improving regional innovation systems, and striving to build a national chemical R&D base.
The park actively promoted strategic cooperation with well-known domestic universities and research institutes, and reached cooperation agreements with Tsinghua University, Nanjing University of Technology, and the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, jointly establishing a joint environmental technology R&D center and a public service platform for green chemicals. The new material industrial base has fully launched the construction of a chemical park R&D center with a total investment of 300 million yuan.
The park also accelerated the introduction of various types of R&D institutions. By the end of 2010, there were more than 30 R&D institutions in the park, including 3 state-level, 14 provincial-level and 3 municipal engineering and technology centers. Six companies have been identified as provincial-level demonstration enterprises of “Integration of Industrialization and Informatizationâ€; 20 enterprises have been listed in Nanjing’s “Upgrading of Thousands of Enterprises†program, and the park has also been included in the Nanjing “Two Integrations†pilot area.
