Wang Shunbing, who is responsible for applying for the project, told reporters that energy-saving and emission reduction in heavy chemical industry is an important part of transforming China's economic growth pattern. For this reason, the Ministry of Science and Technology included the key technology of aluminum/chromium molten salt cleaner production in the “863 Plan”. Tackling key projects to control the energy-saving, emission-reduction and emission-reduction of China's heavy chemical industry from the source, and establish the core technology of source pollution control and circular economy integration technology that suits the characteristics of China's resources.
It is understood that China is a major producer of alumina, chromium salts, and soda ash. It produces more than 30 million tons of red mud per year, and untreated chromium slag is more than 4 million tons. The utilization of large amounts of chromium slag and alkali slag is low, and it occupies a large amount. Land, but also seriously pollute the environment.
According to reports, the project consists of four parts of research: First, the sub-smelting salt alumina cleaner production / red mud source pollution reduction key technology and application integration system, will focus on the development of red mud alkali aluminum efficient recovery technology, and ultimately achieve The alumina industry recovery rate of medium-low grade bauxite is >90%, and the overall energy consumption of alumina products is lower than the assessment targets of Bayer and others.
The second is the sub-salt method chromium salt production and chromium slag zero emission integration technology, focusing on the development of sub-molten salt media regeneration cycle technology, and ultimately achieve chromium ferrochromium conversion rate from 75% to 98%, energy consumption decreased by 20 %, the source of chromium slag is reduced by 80%, and a demonstration project for the large-scale industrialization of clean production of chromium salts will be established, and the assessment targets for continuous and stable operation will be achieved.
The third is saline-alkali chemical acid-alkali co-production—integrated technology of regeneration cycle and alkaline slag zero discharge, and will focus on the research and development of technologies such as ammonia medium and intermediate recycling, and finally achieve the process without steam ammonia residue, waste liquid production, and sodium chloride utilization. To reach 90% or more, build a 10,000-ton soda ash clean production facility and achieve continuous and stable operation and other assessment goals.
The fourth is to establish a common key technology platform for sub- molten salt chemical and metallurgical clean production, forming a sub-molten salt common technology process design specification and industry technical standards.
Wang Shunbing stated that in order to make these technologies industrialize as soon as possible and contribute to the heavy industry clean production, the project requires the joint application of production, learning and research. The state allocates funds of 40 million yuan, and the application unit will raise funds to no less than 80 million yuan.
